"Matterbeam's Data Agility Platform is a game-changer for us. It eliminates the need for complex scripts and manual processes, significantly improving our data accuracy and consistency. By automating our Salesforce data integration, we saved countless hours of engineering time and now have a reliable single source of truth for our customers' storefront locations. Matterbeam has revolutionized our data management, allowing our team to focus on more strategic initiatives"
The Challenge
Streaming live data out of Salesforce presents significant complexities, such as requiring the running of scripts, manually transforming data, or writing complex apex code that is spread across many objects - all of which are a nightmare to maintain. For Broadlume, maintaining a single source of truth for their customers' storefront locations outside of Salesforce has been a particularly challenging task.
Broadlume had been planning to commence an engineering project to build a complex data pipeline for the sole purpose of extracting data from Salesforce and loading it into Nexus, their operational data store. Broadlume had put the project on the back burner due to the engineering resources required and priority of dozens of other projects.
The Solution
Broadlume's instance of the Matterbeam Data Agility Platform includes access to an array of Collectors, Transforms, and Emitters. While using Matterbeam for other data movement use cases, a Broadlume engineering manager identified a streamlined approach to manage their specific requirements for Salesforce data flow.
He utilized the Salesforce Collector to extract both Account and Location data from Salesforce. Next, he configured a Transform to join the Locations and Accounts data, incorporating the account name into the location object to ensure comprehensive data consistency. Finally, he set up an Emitter to upsert the refined location data into Nexus, an RDS Postgres database, thereby establishing a reliable single source of truth for their customers' storefront locations.
This solution significantly improved the accuracy and efficiency of Broadlume's Salesforce data management process, eliminating previously manual efforts and increasing data integrity.
The Outcome
In under an hour, Broadlume successfully integrated their Salesforce location data into Nexus using Matterbeam, eliminating the need for a Salesforce expert admin, extensive engineering time, or lengthy approval processes.
With the data now accessible in Matterbeam, Broadlume could seamlessly insert the customer Universal ID from Salesforce into their flagship Rollmaster BMS flooring software that manages critical business functions, including leads, inventory, accounting, and reporting.
This new setup allows Broadlume to integrate Salesforce customer support cases with their corresponding customer IDs and customer records already in Nexus, ensuring a cohesive and efficient data management process. This integration not only streamlines their operations but also enhances the accuracy and accessibility of customer information across their systems.
